Dr. Michael Robinson
ND, MS, CNS, LDN, CFMP, ONC
Dr. Michael Robinson is a nationally sought out Naturopathic Oncology specialist and expert in functional medicine. He has been working and teaching in natural healthcare for the last 15 years; he now practices in Darien / Downers Grove with a clinical focus in cancer support therapy and naturopathic oncology. While initially enrolled in a Pre-Pharmacy program, he saw his mother go through 10 years of chronic pain and medications as she was shuffled around to 28 different doctors and practitioners without relief. It wasn't until she saw a Naturopathic Physician that within 6 months, her pain and medication usage had reduced by 90%. This sent him down a new journey to learn about everything Natural Medicine had to offer. He switched his pharmacy major to a Health Science degree, and never turned back. While in his medical internship, he would continually see patients with cancer looking to suport their body nutritionally, be dismissed by the conventional medical community and their oncologist. The most common dietary intervention given by oncologists is to eat ice cream and this was a shock as cancer is inherently a metabolic disease. He has sworn to always use food first and support the body rather than suppress the symptoms with medication, and support those with cancer that have felt like they are not getting complete answers in the conventional medical system.
Dr. Robinson works with oncology patients at both the Nourish clinic and at the Ayre Clinic for Contemporary Medicine, designing diet and herbal medicine plans to complement their conventional chemotherapy and radiation regimens, to provide Comprehensive Cancer Care. This approach allows us not only to fuel the body during conventional treatment, but also get to the bottom of the immune system dysfunctions that have lead to the current diagnosis. He is a member of the Oncology Assocications of Naturopathic Physicians, and is a certified Oncology Nutrition Consultant.
